As the foundation of our integrated workwear system, our base layers are worn next-to-skin and feature four-way stretch for maximum mobility while pulling moisture away from your body to keep you comfortable and dry.

We’re hell-bent on building the most technical, high performance workwear in the world. Our gear is Designed at our Headquarters in Denver Colorado. 

Every product we make is engineered down to the smallest detail to make it perform exceptionally, the technical aspect of the gear requires matching the right talent to the right fabrics either here in the US, Vietnam, Bangladesh or China.

Like most clothes, it depends on the garment and the body type. But here are a few tips that we've found helpful. 

• Consult the size chart for each garment. Because each garment is designed with specific uses in mind, fit and sizing might be different. Look for this image for sizing specific to the garment:
• If you fall in between sizes, size up for the most comfortable fit. Our T-Line Pants and Shorts have minimal stretch in the waistband, this is a key reason to size up if between sizes. However, the pants/shorts are very flexible otherwise. 
• Measure twice, cut once! Be sure to check your measurements to get the best fit the first time. But, no sweat if you don't! We have free returns and exchanges for 60 days. 
• Our B1 Short sleeve and Long sleeve tees tend to have a shorter torso. Plenty of fabric to cover most, but if you prefer a longer tee length to tuck in, this might not be the best option. We'd suggest the EDO polo, or the TRUEWERK Logo Tee.

Great question! Here’s some guidance. 

Basic Washing:

Close all fasteners and release pull cords. Machine wash cold with like colors. No fabric softeners. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Tumble dry on low. DO NOT DRY ON HIGH. Do not iron.

​Knit Fabric Care:

Machine wash cold with like colors. No fabric softeners. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Lay flat to dry to avoid shrinkage. 

Stain removal:

1. Remove as much of the stain as possible blotting with a paper towel.
2. Use a stain removal spray or soap such as Dawn dish soap, work stained area with hands or a brush to help release the stain. Let soak for half an hour to an hour before the wash cycle.
3. Wash the garment as per basic washing instructions.
4. Let air dry or hang dry and inspect stains to see if removal was successful. IMPORTANT: do not machine dry garment before stains have been successfully removed. Doing so will set stains into the garment making removal almost impossible.
5. Oil and grease stains might take several treatments to remove but will fade significantly after 2-3 washings.

Shrinkage:

The majority of our technical workwear is made from materials that are dimensionally stable and will not shrink during normal care and cleaning. Garments with cotton content will likely shrink if washed and dried at higher temperatures. To minimize this follow our basic washing instructions. Polyester can also shrink minimally if exposed to high temperatures. Knit fabrics like our knit cap, watch cap, and knit sweaters and hoodies should be laid flat to dry to avoid shrinkage. 

Industrial laundry:

Most of our T1 and X1 line garments have been tested to hold up to industrial wash. That said, we recommend industrial washing garments as infrequently as possible. The intensity of industrial washing can shorten the lifespan of your clothing due to extreme heats and chemicals. Do not wash over 165 F.

DWR coating:

DWR treatments will degrade over time, especially with frequent use/abrasion. 

To revive the DWR treatment, first wash the garment following basic washing instructions. Then place in a dryer and low/medium heat for 15-20 minutes. The heat should help bring back the DWR finish.

ANSI compliant garments:

Extreme washing/drying can reduce the vibrance of high-viz colored garments. Our garments have been engineered to withstand ANSI 107 washing standards for at least 25 washes when following our basic washing instructions. To prolong the life of high-viz garments, wash them as infrequently as possible and use our basic washing instructions when necessary. This is especially important when using high heat to dry garments with adhered reflective banding.

Yes! Our T-Series fabrics go from T1 (hottest weather) all the way up to T4 (coldest weather). You can combine layers however you like in order to get the levels of breathability, thermal insulation, and water resistance that you want. And if conditions shift during the day, just shed (or add!) a layer.
